Marie was born in the Notre Dame parish of Brouage. She immigrated to Quebec in 1649 at the age of 17 with her parents, sisters, and brothers. She worshipped at Notre Dame in Quebec City.

She had 15 children and her husband became quite well known and wealthy during his lifetime.
